papergirl

since I am on the artist list of papergirl san francisco 2012, I should write at least this one in english.
papergirl is a project that started in berlin and spread around the world quite quickly. the idea is to find an alternative to illegal street art, to share art work like stickers etc in the city, but not on the buildings etc.
I love street art a lot, to take an influence on the people in the streets, but I also allways try to find ways not to damage property of other people. so what started in berlin was, that once a year the organizers collected art work, wrapped them like a paper roll, took their bicycles and threw those rolls at passengers while driving - not to hit them, but to share art.
I don't remember when I heard about the project in berlin, but it is years ago and I followed the developement in other cities and nations with big interest, planning how to take part in some of them.
so this german sentence "ich war's nicht" (sth. like I didn't do it) still seems perfect to me on so many levels: according to society, street art, etc. - I have been using it a lot this year... :)

Dachbodenfund
